Good Night Kiss He
walks up Central Park West to at
the coffee shop on the corner, sits
at the counter, eats two scrambled eggs,
toast, coffee, small orange juice,
pays, crosses Plaza,
to the opera house, enters
the stage door, takes out
his flute, practices for an hour. When
the orchestra enters they
rehearse until lunch when he
returns to the coffee shop, eats
a tuna fish sandwich. After
the afternoon rehearsal, he
takes the Subway back to Avenue
and walks three blocks to
his flat where he cooks a
hamburger for dinner. He eats while
watching the news, reads
the news paper. Later he
lifts the photos in the black frames
on his dresser--one his
wife, the other his six year old son,
kisses them before
going to bed. |
